The Wolfstones Beach is a fun water-free zone open to children of all ages throughout the Festival. Kids can play pirates in the boat or have a dig in the sand with buckets and spades, while mum and dad relax in giant deckchairs. Free entry for Festival ticket holders.
We know how essential it is to have somewhere safe and private for parents to change little ones’ nappies. So, there will be dedicated baby changing facilities on the Event Field in the Car Club Paddock.
Be sure not to miss world-renowned Steve Carver as he carries out his incredible breath-taking aerobatic display. This will take place during the late afternoon on Friday and Saturday.
Invented less than a mile from the Festival venue in the village of Upperthong, Welly Wanging is a sport in which competitors throw a Wellington boot as far as possible. It’s now played around the World, but Upperthong remain the Welly Wanging World Champions. Can you beat them?
Pick a local school team to support and cheer them on as they compete for pole position in motorless soapbox cars. Colourful and inventive cart designs, and fun competitor costumes will make them all the more worth watching.
Although many participants do take it seriously, lawnmower racing is usually entered into in a spirit of fun. See race-prepared lawnmowers (minus the blades) battle it out in championship action over the weekend on the Festival’s special mower racetrack.
Not just fun, but a real education. Learn all about sheep breeds and their wool. Take part in 'have-a-go' sheep shearing, and even see sheep dance! It’s bound to make ewe laugh.
Experience the high-speed thrill of World-class driving simulators. Battle it out with fellow Festival goers for the top score and great prizes. Either test your reaction times and skill levels on the racetrack or recreate all the roles of a live pit stop challenge. Can you handle the heat?
The Holmfirth area offers a wide range of accommodation options. Stay at the Festival’s on-site campground and be close to the action all weekend. Or why not book a whole week and exploring everything West Yorkshire has to offer?
