In discussion with the Kirklees Council, Public Health Officials, and having now been provided with the national regulations over the period of the Festival, it will be a condition of entry that EVERYONE aged 11 + MUST have had a negative COVID Test Result within the 48 hours prior to their arrival on site.
This also includes EVERYONE WHO HAS ALREADY BEEN VACCINATED. Whilst this may seem onerous, it is what we have been asked to put in place to safeguard everyone. Even though Vaccination significantly reduces your chances of catching COVID, it DOES NOT eliminate the risk.
• To comply with this requirement is a simple process. The simplest tests are the Lateral Flow Tests. They are FREE; they can be obtained from the Government/NHS (https://www.gov.uk/order-coronavirus-rapid-lateral-flow-tests OR collect from most pharmacies and/or test centres.
• You can also book in by googling your local council and following the “rapid lateral flow testing” link.
If you have not already been able to complete an RLF Test, there will be dedicated, sanitised, secure test stations on site where you can do a Rapid Lateral Flow Test and await your result before entering the Festival site. Results take about 30 minutes. The test stations will be in a 3x3 Marquee, there will be a table, test kit, sanitiser, wipes and yellow bin. A steward will be in attendance to sanitise the station after each test has been undertaken. Kirklees Council will kindly provide the Test Kits.
A NEGATIVE TEST RESULT IS VALID FOR THE DURATION OF THE FESTIVAL.
N.B. We also ask all adults with smart phones to download the NHS Track and Trace App in preparation.
Once a ticket has been purchased you will receive an email with a link to process your COVID secure entry. We will guide you through the procedure necessary to ensure a smooth entry to the Festival.
The result of the Lateral Flow Test is the evidence that you will need to display at the Entrance to the Festival, together of course with ticket/wristband. There will be dedicated Festival Stewards to assist you.
There will be capacity and density management in all areas of the festival to ensure ample space for all participants.
If persons are showing signs of covid - high temperature, a new continuous cough, loss or change of their sense of smell - they must tell one of the stewards immediately
