Bolton University stand and McLaren

NEWS2021-04-14

Students from Bolton University's Motorsport Engineering Degree course will be at the Festival as part of the Palmer Engineering Village. Learn about the courses on offer and apprenticeships and intern programmes offered by Bolton. The University presence will also feature three special cars, including the historic Ensign 180b Formula 1 car as driven by Johnny Herbert. This car will be on display but also will be doing a demo run on the finishing straight of the Hill Climb. Bolton will be displaying a Can Am McLaren from 1969, Chassis number 6.

Dr Mark Busfield said, "Our students and lab technicians will hopefully be there with the Formula 1 car they take care of and test. Our arrangements for the Festival are still a little fluid as it all depends upon which meets are going ahead and which cars and drivers are available but whatever we bring it will be special and well worth the visit."
